It’s been about 3 months since my surgery, and I would say overall that I’m happy with it and that my experience was positive. I now have good vision in both eyes, but there were a couple of issues I had during the process. During my screening, the doctor was explaining the differences between lasik and smile and showed me a video explaining the differences between them. When he came back to the room he told me I wasn’t eligible for either because my corneas were too thin. It wasn’t a major deal just unfortunate timing after deciding I wanted to get smile. I ended up proceeding with PRK surgery since that was my only option. The more frustrating part of the process was that the focus of the doctor and the healing process was my total vision and not being concerned about my eyes individually. My left eye has not healed as well as my right eye, and although I can technically see 20-20, I do get quite a bit of blur if I’m just looking out of the one eye. The doctor would dismiss this blurring because I can see 20-20. I understand his point because in day to day life I won’t be closing one eye, but it was frustrating when I paid and expected to get both eyes corrected. Overall I’m still happy I got PRK. I can now see perfectly fine both close and far. I know there’s risk when getting eye surgery and the healing process of the eye is out of the surgeons control, I just wanted people to know of the difficulties I had during the process. More

I’ve been hesitant on getting lasik, but when I decided to finally pull the plug I went to a few places to get a consultation and by far exceeded my expectations. Everyone there was super friendly and nice, and they definitely made me feel comfortable. They answered all my questions. So when the day came, Cameron help me through all the financial part and he did a wonderful job explaining everything. Dr. Guduru and Dennis was the guy that did my procedure and they definitely comforted me and explaining every step of the way making me feel at ease. The institute has a really great team! 1000% would recommend. I got SMILE, which is a different vision correction surgery than LASIK. I’ve never been able to see without glasses or contacts, and this surgery has changed my life!!!! The surgery and experience with Wangs was great, and I am super happy with the results. However, Wangs choice to partner with the anesthesia group (Eye Surgery Center of Middle Tennessee) Sucks. Their billing practices are stone age and not very nice. So, be cautious if you chose to use Wangs. While the surgery was a success, you will pay between $10,000 and $15,000 and have to deal with the Eye Surgery Center over balances you aren't even aware of. And if you call Wangs to discuss, because you don't realize it's two different companies, like me, you may get an aggitated woman from Wangs on the phone who tried to make you feel stupid and passes blame without hesitation. Super idsappointing to an otherwise excellent experience. Wang's will tell you the balance for the other company, and collect it right there as well, but you will never know if it is fully paid for or not until you receive a letter from a debt collector over $161.00. To the lady on the phone at Wangs - I hope you were just having a rough day and I just happened to call you at the wrong time. Otherwise, you displayed an attitude that I really don't think falls in line with Wangs patient empathy. I appreciate you attemting to make me feel stupid with your meanness. More

The staff at WVI was very accommodating during my treatment and first follow-up. The SMILE procedure they recommended fits my active lifestyle and the demands of being a firefighter/paramedic. This place gave us a complimentary consult and same day treatment, which was great considering I work as a welder and can't wear my glasses at work - so I was able to plan this around our annual shut down. The staff were all very friendly and helpful, even when things got a little difficult with the HSA card. We got there about 15 minutes early and got called back right away, exam was fast and easy, took a few minutes for the doctor to come back, he was friendly and examined me quickly, answering all of our questions thoroughly and without making us feel any type of way about them, the financial coordinator took a while to come in, but was helpful one he got in there and explained the pricing for us, even helped us apply for financing. The front helped us deal with HSA card issues, worked with my night shift schedule, and I even checked in on Facebook and got my girlfriend a Starbucks gift card! The only complaint about that process is some of the things they "upsold" us on - I didn't feel like gave the best explanation. The eyelid cleaning - was a HORRIBLE experience and I wouldn't ever get that or recommend it to anyone. I felt like it was a waste of money, didn't do much, but also wasn't fully explained just recommended/told I had to get. The lady who did it cleaned them with a brush, which was fine, but then used the bright light (without telling me it would be a bright light, right after my eyes were dilated) and shoved it into my eye socket, even when I pulled back and told her it was really tough her response "yeah it's a little uncomfortable" with a laugh - just felt like she didn't truly know how to do it right and caused a lot of pain before I even had the procedure. I asked for the Valium beforehand/told her they should give it before that as I was already anxious - she just laughed and said I get it after. My girlfriend even went home and watched some videos on the treatment and says that is NOT how the lady did it - for $650 an eye I feel like that should've been a better experience. I also think they could've explained the SMILE procedure itself a little better and how the flow would go - I was anxious about the laser, but not being able to move at all for thirty seconds sent my anxiety and blood pressure skyrocketing - and I feel I would've been better prepared if they told me ahead of time what to expect. I also got the little tear duct plugs they recommend - and then at the follow up the next day had to have one taken out, just didn't make sense, if they were that needed why was it removed next day, but the rest stay for 3-4 months. From start to finish my experience was nothing short of amazing! I went in for my consult and surgery on the same day and was in and out in about 6 hours. During my time there eachperson that I came into contact with had afriendly attitude and calming presence. My only regret is not having the procedure done sooner!While I only met Dr Joshua Frankel for a brief time during surgery he was very friendly and calming. I had 3D LASIK done a month ago at Wang Vision and it was one of the best decisions I have ever made! I was able to see clearly less than 24 hours after the procedure and have had no pain or discomfort. My prescription was -7.25 and I couldn't see anything without contacts or glasses. It is amazing to have 20/20 vision and know that I don't have to deal with contacts anymore. If anyone is considering it but is nervous about the procedure, don't be. It was painless and quick. I have the utmost faith in Dr. Ming Wang and his team of professionals. I deal with contracts everyday and because I am nearly 55 years old my near vision eye sight was diminished. Without wearing my readers I could not read my contracts it was a blur. In low light I could not read a menu. It was frustrating. I must have had 20 pairs of reading glasses all of varying strengths. Until one day I went to one of Dr. Wangs seminars and it changed my life. After the initial surgery I had a little scaring which had me back in my readers briefly. But once they removed the scaring membrane my vision is spot on. You know you are in good hands when you are being cared for the top laser eye surgeon I believe in the world. I am so thankful that a friend of mine recommended that I get the SMILE procedure by Dr. Wang. He and his staff were incredible before, during and post procedure. The procedure was painless, took only 10-15 minutes and they talked me through the steps which was comforting and informative. That evening Dr. Wang called to check on how I was feeling. I could immediately see well enough to drive and went shopping the next day. My eyes have only felt minor irritation and I received enough drops to make that feeling quickly disappear as they are simply a little dry...I'm amazed at the sight I have and the very small amount of irritation. It's been awesome to wake up and see immediately without contacts or glasses. I highly recommend having the SMILE procedure done by Dr. Wang. I will be forever grateful! More

Dr. Wang and his staff performed corneal collagen cross-linking on both of my eyes. The experience was terrific start to finish. Dr. Wang, Dr. Connolly, Dr. Rock, Dr. Zimmerman, and ALL of the additional staff members are fantastic and caring. I felt that I was listened to and all my questions and concerns were addressed fully and compassionately. The only downside is that you have to be prepared to sit in the waiting room for a while before being called back for your appointment. But they do provide snacks and drinks for your wait time, lol. All-in-all, each of my visits has been a pleasure. More

I did the SMILE procedure which is great if you are near sighted. I don't have any redness in my eyes &was driving the next day! This procedure is less invasive, less complications& safer than other options. My eyes are healing faster than expected and for about a week your brain& eyes will be adjusting to the post-operation vision adjustment where you will have some blurriness & will need to use different eye drops to heal. I was wearing contacts for about 13 yrs & although surgery is scary, the 1-2mins per eye operation is totally worth a lifetime of not needing glasses or contacts. My eyes are less dry & I recommend Wang Vision Institute for sure! Note, I would go to the vision seminars before surgery to educate yourself on the procedure & to get to know the Doctor.. More

Wow, the results of my LASIK surgery are incredible! Dr. Wang really knows what he's doing and treats his patients with such care and patience. He answered all my questions and made sure I was fully aware of the benefits as well as the risks (which were minimal). I went to a seminar of Dr Ming Wang and found out about the 3D laser lens replacement surgery and decided that I wanted that surgery. I was nervous because we were doing one eye at a time and was worried it would be painful and not go back for the next eye, but that was definitely not the case! He told me what he was doing during the surgery and I could actually see more just out of surgery than I thought I would as I thought it would take a day or two for it to really work but it is fantastic to be able to wake up in the middle of the night and see. It's hard to believe that less than 48 hours ago I to rely on contacts or glasses to get through the day. After being referred to the Wang Vision Institute (WVI) by a friend who previously had a procedure there, I decided to investigate further and I'm certainly glad I did. I researched multiple LASIK providers in the Nashville area, setting up evaluations and reading online reviews. After everything, WVI stood out as the best. My initial evaluation was very comprehensive and the staff was well practiced, answering all my questions. That very night I peeked out the hotel curtain in Nashville and was astonished at the city lights and the shiny chrome on the cars. I hadn't really seen them for over a decade. I came into the process with fairly high anxiety, but after speaking to Dr. Wang and his staff my anxiety decreased before my surgery even began. He was very realistic about what my possible outcome would be given my extreme nearsightedness, but he confidently encouraged me that he would be able to help increase my quality of life by considerably clearing up my vision. The surgery itself was quick. He and his staff talked me through each step, and counted back to how much time remained my procedure. The atmosphere at Wang Vision is very positive, which is beneficial if you are considering LASIK. The waiting area is comfortable, the staff is helpful and friendly, and Dr. Wang himself is a presence of peace. What could have been an anxious visit left me feeling a lot calmer than I expected. And, if a calm, positive atmosphere isn't enough to put you at ease before eye surgery, there's always the Valium they offer beforehand! During the actual LASIK procedure, the only discomfort was from the piece holding my eye open. I didn't feel a thing in my actual eye. Now, 2 days post-procedure, life is pretty much back to normal, save for the fact that I can see without glasses or contacts now! More

I was somewhat nervous, but it was all in all painless and did not last longer than thirty minutes, if not fifteen.After keeping my eyes closed that day and a night sleep, I woke up with perfect vision except for the slight blurriness.
