The staff at Wang vision institute are very friendly and professional, especially the coordinator Kayla and my surgeon Dr. Jones. I came in to have lasik but they educated me about a new procedure called SMILE which involves less recovery time. They walked me through every step of getting my eye procedure done and made me feel very comfortable with everything. I got the surgery done on Friday, and by Saturday I was able to see without the use of glasses anymore. My follow up on Monday showed that I had 20/20 vision. I would recommend Wang Vision Institute to anyone looking to have Lasik or SMILE done. More

What an incredible experience! I was nervous to get SMILE (a LASIK adjacent procedure), and I can't stress how well this team took care of me. Scott was the first person I met and he was very informative and hysterical. Next I met Dr. Wish-- he was knowledgeable and provided a laundry list of options and services that would help me accomplish my goal of never having to use glasses or contacts again! Cameron was fabulous in providing payment options. Dr. Jones was my surgeon and he was as quick and efficient as they come. I was very nervous for my surgery (just ask anyone listed above), and James (surgeon tech) made me feel so comforted and even held my hand when I needed it most! I’m 2 weeks post op and haven’t had any issues whatsoever with my vision. I had the SMILE procedure done and I haven’t experienced dry eye (in contacts I constantly had dry eye). The procedure took about 4-5 minutes per eye and the doctor and technicians were in the room talking to me throughout the entire procedure. Oddly, it was quite a relaxing experience. More

My experience at Wang Vision was great from the very first phone call to get basic info and following throughout the entire process. After speaking with Dr. Zimmerman I went ahead and chose to do SMILE immediately following my consultation. Dr. Guduru completed the procedure. He was fantastic along with his assistants. Dr. Guduru explained each step during the surgery and his assistants were encouraging which made it a great experience. Thank you Dr Zimmerman for answering all my questions in a way I can understand! I have been wearing glasses for 20plus years, & after having SMILE within a few hours I was able to SEE! During the surgery Dr Kyle and the staff were so patient and talking to me the whole time letting me know what was going on step by step. I experienced no pain during or after the surgery. In a nutshell it was great. Everyone on staff was amazing & personable. Due to my prescription being so high (-10.5 in the right & -9 in the left) I qualified for SMILE and, specifically, a reduction. Meaning: we’ll get you as close as possible to perfect vision. Now I have 20/20 in my left and around 20/40-20/50 in my right! For someone who’s worn glasses since second grade, this is huge. My vision keeps getting better even a month after. (And I still wake up every morning looking for my glasses 😂) Thank you to the whole team at Wang! More

Hindsight is 20/20 and now so is my vision. Im glad I went to Wang Vision Institute for my vision correction surgery. I've worn contacts, and reluctantly glasses for over 20 years. I travel a lot and knowing I will struggle with very dry contacts every time I fly is stressful. I've wanted vision correction for years but never found the right place and price. WVI wasn't even the first place I looked into around the Nashville area. I didn't feel comfortable until I met with Dr. Wang's team. Its not a giant office so faces become familiar and the staff knows you too. I saw the same Doctor from consultation through my follow-up appointments. I don't even get that with my PCM. It turns out the procedure wasn't more expensive but WVI does offer more advanced, less invasive procedures. I would, and do, recommend Wang Vision Institute to everyone with less than perfect vision. Thank you Dr. Guduru for improving my life with SMILE eye surgery. More

Incredible experience! I went in expecting to discuss Lasik, but learned of a newer, even less invasive procedure called SMILE. After a few eye exams to make sure I qualified for SMILE, I was approved, and was able to receive the procedure the same day. The entire staff was wonderful! Have worn glasses since I was 8, contacts since 12. My prescription had gotten so bad I was wearing -6.5 contacts… after my vision stabilized for a few years, my eye doctor set up a consul station with WVI and I was able to get SMILE the same day! By my follow-up appointment the next morning I was seeing 20/20 with minimal discomfort. It’s absolutely unbelievable how well I can see, and so quickly! Highly recommend WVI, they do great work! I had astigmatism and nearsightedness, but now enjoy 20/20 vision with no complications since I got SMILE surgery at Wang Vision Institute a year ago. There was period of recovery for about 6 months when objects looked washed out and my eyes were extra sensitive to light, but it was worth that minor inconvenience. More

I had SMILE eye surgery yesterday afternoon and at my follow up appointment this morning I am already seeing 20/20! The whole experience from initial consultation through follow up visit was great. The surgery was easy and very quick. I previously went to another eye surgeon in downtown Nashville who told me I wasn't a candidate for lasik because of my astigmatism and he wanted to perform PKR. I came here for a 2nd opinion and they said I was a good candidate for lasik/SMILE. Our son had his vision corrected here. His vision was so bad his glasses were "coke bottle" thick. We went in they told us he would be able to get the Smile reduction due to how bad his eyes were. The procedure would get him to 20/40. Kayla worked with us and our schedule to plan it out. She kept in contact and answered all of our questions. The day of the procedure they were all very helpful. I had SMILE surgery with Dr. Jones 4 days ago, and I’m thrilled with my results. As an alternative to LASIK surgery, Dr. Wang's Staff recommended the SMILE procedure to correct my vision without lenses. My active lifestyle and professional demands being a career firefighter and paramedic allows little recovery time and requires adequate vision. Dr. Wang's staff had me back to work with missing only one shift day. My first follow up appointment with Dr. Jones showed that my eyes were healing better than expected with my vision improving to better than what it is was with contacts. The staff were all very friendly and helpful, even when things got a little difficult with the HSA card. We got there about 15 minutes early and got called back right away, exam was fast and easy, took a few minutes for the doctor to come back, he was friendly and examined me quickly, answering all of our questions thoroughly and without making us feel any type of way about them, the financial coordinator took a while to come in, but was helpful one he got in there and explained the pricing for us, even helped us apply for financing. The front helped us deal with HSA card issues, worked with my night shift schedule, and I even checked in on Facebook and got my girlfriend a Starbucks gift card! The only complaint about that process is some of the things they "upsold" us on - I didn't feel like gave the best explanation. The eyelid cleaning - was a HORRIBLE experience and I wouldn't ever get that or recommend it to anyone. I felt like it was a waste of money, didn't do much, but also wasn't fully explained just recommended/told I had to get. The lady who did it cleaned them with a brush, which was fine, but then used the bright light (without telling me it would be a bright light, right after my eyes were dilated) and shoved it into my eye socket, even when I pulled back and told her it was really tough her response "yeah it's a little uncomfortable" with a laugh - just felt like she didn't truly know how to do it right and caused a lot of pain before I even had the procedure. Before coming to Wang Vision, I was wearing contacts for 8 years and my vision just kept getting worse and worse every year (-6.50 on both eyes). Before I knew it, I was able to read in 20/20 vision 24 hours after my surgery. I had the SMILE procedure done and it took 45 minutes. Dr. Jones is an amazing eye surgeon and Dr. Zimmerman was very knowledgeable and answered any concerns I had about my eyes before the surgery. Had such a wonderful experience! Went in for a consultation and was approved for both SMILE and Lasik. Ended up going with the SMILE procedure, same day! Everyone there was so lovely and friendly--- which was helpful as I was pretty nervous. The procedure was so much better than anticipated, I did not feel a thing and the recovery was very easy too! I feel super lucky! The individuals in the room with me during the procedure were very sweet and talked me through what was happening. To top it off-- Thanksgiving was the next day and Dr. Jones, who did the procedure, called me on the holiday just to check in and see how I was doing. So beyond nice for him to do on a holiday. I would highly recommend W Vision Institute. Hello everyone, I've had bad eyesight since 3rd grade and my prescription for the year 2022 was about -7.5 in both eyes. In other words, i was totally blind. I couldn't even find my glasses in the morning because i couldn't see them. I've thought about getting corrective surgery for years but it always terrified me. This year I just got fed up with the struggle of wearing glasses and decided to see if I qualified for it. At Wang vision institute, I qualified for Lasik and Smile. I decided to go with smile, even though it can be pretty costly, because I wanted the best treatment for my eyes since they were so bad and it was less invasive. Dr Ming Wang and his associates did a great job with my Smile surgery. My brother and I did the surgery together on the same day and it went very well! I had a little irritation the first week but after using the drops had no issues at all. I can now see 20/20 with no pain or issues seeing at this point. I have worn contacts for over 10 years and have always experienced eye irritation from the contact lenses. Additionally, as someone with an active lifestyle, glasses were not a great option. I had my consult on a Friday and once the initial evaluation was completed, it was determined that I was eligible for the SMILE procedure on the same day. We spoke to finance and was able to work out a payment plan and we moved forward with the procedure. Dr. Wang was very calming and walked me through every single step. I had the SMILE procedure Friday 06/03/22. I slept and rested my eyes all Friday evening. Then Saturday I woke up and could see everything! It's now four days after the procedure, and my vision has gotten better every day. I was really nervous to have this done, but it is 100% worth the nerves! Parking and getting to the building were easy and free. The entire staff was great from the moment I arrived nearly blind to the moment I left with my new eyes! More

I chose to get SMILE back in late January since my prescription WAS -7 in both eyes. I’m 4 months post-op and life is amazing and so much simpler having 20/20 vision. Most of the time I completely forget that I used to have glasses/contacts which is insane considering I needed them to function for 25 years. Everything at Wang Institute was great- very efficient and were available to ask any questions before and after surgery. Healing was quick and it’s true that you can see 20/20 the next day albeit with some light sensitivity and mild headache. I was back at work the following week (did take some breaks since it’s a 100% computer based job), but was able to work full time by the second week for sure! It’s expensive but very worth it- I kept/keep saying that it’s like a miracle and science is amazing. I initially came in for a consult in April of 2022 and was planning for a same day procedure which isn’t uncommon for patients who come in for laser surgery. I was provided thorough and prompt instructions and guidelines via email prior to coming in. Once in the office, the staff completed the initial tests/exams to determine if I was a candidate for Lasik and/or SMILE. I was a candidate for both, fortunately and ultimately opted for SMILE because of my “high prescription”, over -4.0 in each eye. Right before the procedure when getting ready to pay, I ran into a hiccup with my FSA provider that unfortunately resulted in me postponing my procedure to a future date. The staff and my coordinator were understanding and had no issues whatsoever - they went above the call of duty to help me try and resolve the issues with my FSA and kept in touch in the meantime. Once the FSA issue was resolved, I rescheduled and had a great experience - once again. The surgery went very smoothly and I had 20/20 vision by the next day, with improvements still on the horizon. Couldn’t be happier that I won’t need to deal with contacts/glasses for many many years! The procedure itself was painless, a slight amount of pressure (and let’s be honest, there are many doctors visits in life when they say you might feel “slight discomfort, or pressure” and sometimes that discomfort and pressure feels a lot more intense than you were expecting)..but in this case, with my right eye I don’t think I felt hardly anything! The left eye, I felt a bit more pressure but no pain. Almost like a 5 second headache which quickly resolved. The post ops instructions were clear and laid out prior to the surgery and we were provided everything we needed before the surgery. The only item needed that wasn’t provided was prescription eye drops, which they called in to my pharmacy before we left. As a tip for future patients, it’s called Moxifloxacin, and you will have to pay out of pocket for this. I recommend finding a discounted price on GoodRx, so when you let them know your pharmacy, they can send it to one with the price you want. Because it would have been $90-150 pharmacy rate, but we got it for $20 at Publix and it was only $13.99 on GoodRx at Costco. Lessons learned! All in all, a wonderful experience without a hitch. Dr. Wang was kind and thoughtful. I’m not an anxious person around medical persons or procedures, but I know for people who may have more anxiety, the staff and Dr. Wang will take amazing care of you and help you feel at peace. 😊 As far as costs go, you will pay per eye and there are some additional “per eye” costs that are additional and some upgrade packages. I would classify it as an investment that is well worth it but make sure you have a good understanding of the costs before committing. SMILE is more expensive than Lasik because it’s a newer technology. But recognize, this was not an inexpensive investment and maybe something you’d like to weigh based on your current prescription and investment in eye care regularly. With annual visits, new lens and glasses annually for me, and $200 worth of 2-week contacts per year, it will pay itself off in a short while. The price of the years of convenience is something to consider as well! The base price also includes post op visits, the procedure, and the post op materials. Altogether, I couldn’t be happier and I have a feeling the more I heal, the happier I will be with the results. This year, I finally decided it was time to have corrective eye surgery performed and be free of the tyranny of my high prescription eyeglasses forever haha. Living in Nashville, I scoured the Internet for the best firms in Nashville, and I stumbled across the Wang Vision Institute. Setting up an appointment was easy, and they were flexible with my schedule. On the day of the appointment, each of the staff I interacted with were highly professional and took their jobs seriously. The facility is top-notch, and I instantly felt like I had made the right decision coming to the Wang Vision Institute. The actual surgery was quick and effective (although it always feels longer when it's going on!). Dr. Frenkel exhibited skill and excellent bedside manner (too bad more doctors can't perfect this combination!). Day two from having the SMILE laser correction eye procedure and I'm DRIVING!!! From having glasses since the 1st grade, contacts since the 7th/8th it's a surreal feeling. I made an appointment with Ming Wang Institute to find out my options for lasik. My prescription was very strong…-6 something. I can’t remember a time when I could see without glasses. Cr wanted to have this done for so long. When I made my appointment, they Indicated I could possibly have surgery the same day. That was exactly what happened. I made an appointment with Ming Wang Institute to find out my options for lasik. My prescription was very strong…-6 something. I can’t remember a time when I could see without glasses. Cr wanted to have this done for so long. When I made my appointment, they Indicated I could possibly have surgery the same day. That was exactly what happened. I got SMILE two days ago, a form of laser eye correction. I cried after surgery because immediately after I could see people's faces without glasses for the first time ever. The morning after, I woke up and my vision was only a little worse than when I put glasses on (50% recovery). The day after I was seeing 20 20, which I have never seen before, even with corrective lenses. A+. To those with poor vision who have just accepted seeing blurry letters while reading, I highly recomend. More
