I am officially one-week post-op from my "SMILE" procedure, and I couldn't be more thrilled with my experience at WVI and my results. I am a classic case of "got glasses when I was nine and haven't been able to see without them since." A bladeless LASIK procedure was something that I had wanted to do for well over a decade. This place gave us a complimentary consult and same day treatment, which was great considering I work as a welder and can't wear my glasses at work - so I was able to plan this around our annual shut down. The staff were all very friendly and helpful, even when things got a little difficult with the HSA card. We got there about 15 minutes early and got called back right away, exam was fast and easy, took a few minutes for the doctor to come back, he was friendly and examined me quickly, answering all of our questions thoroughly and without making us feel any type of way about them, the financial coordinator took a while to come in, but was helpful one he got in there and explained the pricing for us, even helped us apply for financing. The front helped us deal with HSA card issues, worked with my night shift schedule, and I even checked in on Facebook and got my girlfriend a Starbucks gift card!The only complaint about that process is some of the things they "upsold" us on - I didn't feel like gave the best explanation. The eyelid cleaning - was a HORRIBLE experience and I wouldn't ever get that or recommend it to anyone. I felt like it was a waste of money, didn't do much, but also wasn't fully explained just recommended/told I had to get. The lady who did it cleaned them with a brush, which was fine, but then used the bright light (without telling me it would be a bright light, right after my eyes were dilated) and shoved it into my eye socket, even when I pulled back and told her it was really tough her response "yeah it's a little uncomfortable" with a laugh - just felt like she didn't truly know how to do it right and caused a lot of pain before I even had the procedure. I asked for the Valium beforehand/told her they should give it before that as I was already anxious - she just laughed and said I get it after. My girlfriend even went home and watched some videos on the treatment and says that is NOT how the lady did it - for $650 an eye I feel like that should've been a better experience.I also think they could've explained the SMILE procedure itself a little better and how the flow would go - I was anxious about the laser, but not being able to move at all for thirty seconds sent my anxiety and blood pressure skyrocketing - and I feel I would've been better prepared if they told me ahead of time what to expect. I also got the little tear duct plugs they recommend - and then at the follow up the next day had to have one taken out, just didn't make sense, if they were that needed why was it removed next day, but the rest stay for 3-4 months.Overall I had a good experience and I would do it again without question. My vision was improved that day, and other than a little blurriness I'm able to see without corrective lenses for the first time in my life - and I had HORRIBLE vision. I just wish they had explained a little more and helped me feel fully confident in everything I paid for. To anyone wanting to get it done - they were great, I wouldn't personally recommend the eyelid cleaning - BUT the staff was amazing and the procedure has changed my life. More

Had Lasik done Friday and on Monday’s follow up I went from 20/100 to 20/20. Couldn’t be happier with results. The facility and staff are all top notch and I highly recommend. They made the process very easy and informative and provided great results! More

I would highly recommend W Vision Institute. I have had horrible vision since I was a teen, I was always nervous about any kind of laser vision surgery…but after years of dealing with sensitive eyes being aggravated by contacts, I finally decided to do it. The entire team at W Vision Institute made the entire process a breeze. They educated me on all of my different options and took time explaining every step of the procedure. I decided on the SMILE procedure, and it was completed by Dr Ming W. I was shocked at how quick the entire surgery was. 15 minutes in the surgical suite and I can now see 20/20. I was impressed that Dr. Ming W even called me the night of my procedure to check in on me. I cannot believe I waited so long to do this! More

I've worn glasses since second grade. Finally I decided to get ICL surgery (implantable collamer lenses) since I found out I wasn't a candidate for lasik, and I am so glad I did! I have been wearing contacts/glasses since I was 11. I made sure I stayed on top of my eye appointments which I dread, because my eyesight was so bad. All I ever heard was my gosh your blind. If your eyesight keeps getting worse you will have your license pulled. I have also been advised that I could not do eye surgery since my eyesight was so bad. After my last eye appointment I felt defeated. My husband and best friend told me to get a second opinion. I called and made a consult which changed my life! I qualified for the SMILE procedure which we did the same day. The entire staff was so amazing. Once I got back to the surgery room Dr Ming and Dr Jones walked me through the entire process which was only 30 minutes. I was beyond amazed right after my surgery I was able to see things I have never been able to before such as my husband’s eye color,. I went back the next day for a check up since I did have a high prescription and I had 20/20 vision which I have never had. I was beyond amazed and so grateful that I listed and went to see Dr Ming . He even called that night after my surgery to check on me. Now I am able to read signs and feel more comfortable driving! I went in just for a LASIK/Smile consultation, but after discussing all the details with the staff, I felt confident that SMILE would be the best decision for me. They walked me through all of the potential complications, of which there really aren't many at all, while also discussing pricing options. The best part was the fact that I was able to complete the surgery that day itself, which took at most 5 minutes for the entire procedure and was painless. Dr. Ming and James, the lab technician, made me feel very comfortable during the whole procedure and it led to an amazing post op experience. The feeling of seeing without contacts/glasses was truly breathtaking, and I would recommend this for anyone. More

I had gone for an evaluation a few weeks back to determine if Lasik was a good option so I could stop wearing glasses after 17 years. I had the procedure three days ago, there was and is no pain, and as of day 3 after Lasik I'm already seeing much more clearly. More

I initially came in for a consult in April of 2022 and was planning for a same day procedure which isn’t uncommon for patients who come in for laser surgery.I was provided thorough and prompt instructions and guidelines via email prior to coming in. Once in the office, the staff completed the initial tests/exams to determine if I was a candidate for Lasik and/or SMILE. I was a candidate for both, fortunately and ultimately opted for SMILE because of my “high prescription”, over -4.0 in each eye.Right before the procedure when getting ready to pay, I ran into a hiccup with my FSA provider that unfortunately resulted in me postponing my procedure to a future date. The staff and my coordinator were understanding and had no issues whatsoever - they went above the call of duty to help me try and resolve the issues with my FSA and kept in touch in the meantime.Once the FSA issue was resolved, I rescheduled and had a great experience - once again. The surgery went very smoothly and I had 20/20 vision by the next day, with improvements still on the horizon. Couldn’t be happier that I won’t need to deal with contacts/glasses for many many years!The procedure itself was painless, a slight amount of pressure (and let’s be honest, there are many doctors visits in life when they say you might feel “slight discomfort, or pressure” and sometimes that discomfort and pressure feels a lot more intense than you were expecting)..but in this case, with my right eye I don’t think I felt hardly anything! The left eye, I felt a bit more pressure but no pain. Almost like a 5 second headache which quickly resolved.The post ops instructions were clear and laid out prior to the surgery and we were provided everything we needed before the surgery.The only item needed that wasn’t provided was prescription eye drops, which they called in to my pharmacy before we left. As a tip for future patients, it’s called Moxifloxacin, and you will have to pay out of pocket for this. I recommend finding a discounted price on GoodRx, so when you let them know your pharmacy, they can send it to one with the price you want. Because it would have been $90-150 pharmacy rate, but we got it for $20 at Publix and it was only $13.99 on GoodRx at Costco. Lessons learned!All in all, a wonderful experience without a hitch. Dr. W was kind and thoughtful. I’m not an anxious person around medical persons or procedures, but I know for people who may have more anxiety, the staff and Dr. W will take amazing care of you and help you feel at peace. 😊As far as costs go, you will pay per eye and there are some additional “per eye” costs that are additional and some upgrade packages. I would classify it as an investment that is well worth it but make sure you have a good understanding of the costs before committing. SMILE is more expensive than Lasik because it’s a newer technology. But recognize, this was not an inexpensive investment and maybe something you’d like to weigh based on your current prescription and investment in eye care regularly. With annual visits, new lens and glasses annually for me, and $200 worth of 2-week contacts per year, it will pay itself off in a short while. The price of the years of convenience is something to consider as well!The base price also includes post op visits, the procedure, and the post op materials.Altogether, I couldn’t be happier and I have a feeling the more I heal, the happier I will be with the results. I was 20/20 the day after procedure and it will continue to improve over the days and weeks ahead.Thank you to the team and Dr. W for my vision back, such a gift! More

I've been recommending him to all my friends and family. I had really bad vision for such a long time (-9.75 and -10), and was not qualified for LASIK. I more recently started having trouble seeing up close, as my prescription was so high it was distorting images nearby! I felt that I may never be able to see clearly... until I decided to have one more opinion. When I first stepped into his office, I felt instantly at home. I went through some tests, and was told I qualified for SMILE!! The staff was great, from my very first consultation appointment to all my follow up appointments! The doctor was so personable and even prayed before my surgery (which I really appreciated). From start to finish, I never once felt uncomfortable. The surgery itself was super easy - it just looks like a white napkin is placed over the eye and someone is moving a flashlight around! No pain! It's now been two weeks, I can see really well, and am so happy!! If you're on the fence, just go for it!! You won't regret it!!Some advice: you can go to his Tuesday night seminar to be enrolled in a drawing to potentially get 50% off the surgery, and learn some really cool things about his life!! More

Where to begin? I recently got SMILE surger in mid-April, only to be able to type this message comfortably without glasses before May. The consultation was smooth and professional and I was relieved that I could be a candidate for SMILE. I was also able to learn more about the process through their webinar sessions. As much as I wanted the surgery, I was still very scared before the procedure He really put me at ease and the surgery was fairly quick. I am grateful and pleased with the results!! I just recently had LASIK done by at WVI. I had been wanting LASIK for so long as I have been in glasses/contacts for almost a decade. As soon as I searched, WVI was the highest rated on the list so I called them and they had an appointment only a week away. I immediately jumped on it for the consultation and hopefully same day surgery!In the meantime, I called around to almost every other LASIK place in the area and all were competitively priced and some cheaper, but the experience I had with WVI from the first call was what kept me down that path. Even when my insurance would cover some at other places. I get one pair of eyes, so there aren’t really any do-overs, so not going to be doubtful with who I choose.Long story short, went to the consultation and had surgery same day! They supplied everything I could possibly need, scheduled all of the follow up appointments to fit my schedule, and the instructions were spot on!! The very next day I had 20/20 vision in one eye and 20/15 vision in the other!! I am healing perfectly and was back at work the next day. It has been the best experience ever and I would choose them 100x over!! You don’t know how amazing sight is until you can wake up in the morning and tell time…If you are on the fence about LASIK, just do it!!! And do it with WVI!! On Friday, I traveled to Nashville for my Lasik consultation and “hopefully” surgery at the WVI. All paperwork and directions had been sent to me before hand. The paperwork included detailed pictures related to parking and arrival to the office. I was greeted with friendly staff at each point of my visit, from the initial eye exams, consultation with the Optometrist, support staff and finally the surgeon and technician. One year ago this month my beautiful wife Denisse had Dr Wang do her 3D LAZIK surgery and she's doing amazing! She's completely recovered. As I shared last year, I originally had my 3D Forever Young surgery scheduled for early Spring 2020 but then the pandemic hit! We assumed it would pass quickly so we postponed but then realized it's just a near term part of our lives. In early September 2020, we worked with Dr. Ming Wang staff to schedule my 3D Forever Young surgery for mid September 2020! I'm now 5 weeks post surgery and have never felt or seen better! I went into the surgery assuming I would see better but never envisioned that I would have PERFECT vision! I had the surgery on a Thursday and personally drove the 2 hours home the very next day! I've had no complications and my vision is amazing! I was initially concerned as I suffered from "dry eye" most of my adult life (my dear departed mother also suffered from it as well). It's been two weeks since my consultation and surgery (had them both on the same day) and I have been as happy as I can be with the whole experience and results so far. I had been to two seminars previously which were extremely informative and really answered all the questions I had about the surgeries -- the discount you get is also a super great plus. I was given very detailed instructions on what to expect with the surgery, how to prep for it and what the post-op care would look like about a month prior. The consultation and evaluation process was very detailed, every employee I encountered was so nice and really accommodating every step of the way. You will definitely be there for some hours if you're doing your eval and surgery the same day so be prepared for that. Otherwise, the whole process was easy - I really felt they took their time and was hardly nervous for the actual surgery itself when it finally came time to do it. Dr. Wang was very comforting, even explaining what he was doing every step of the surgery. My eyesight was so bad so they told me beforehand that they wouldn't be able to get me to 20/20, which is fine because I don't think I've ever really seen 20/20 even with my contacts/glasses. Dr. Wang called me personally that same evening to make sure I was doing well and to see if I had any questions. I was back to work the next day. I had my follow up 3 days after surgery where I could read 20/25 without any help of contacts or glasses! I'm seeing just as well now as I was with contacts - my night blindness has improved tremendously (huge plus)! I've had no issues with dry eye or any recovery problems. I have worn glasses/contacts for over 30 years. Up until now, eye doctors told me that I was not a candidate for vision correction due to very high myopia (nearly -10), scleral buckle, and multiple retinal detachments. Getting SMILE surgery at the Wang Vision Institute has been the best medical experience I've ever had. Rather than having you read about my entire great experience and then give my overall summary, I'll get straight to the point upfront. Yesterday afternoon, I had the SMILE procedure done on both eyes by Dr Wang. The following morning (today), I went back in for a post-op follow-up and both eyes are now a perfect 20/20 - in less than 24 hours! What an awesome experience! I had -11 vision and astigmatism in both eyes. I was told by several doctors that i was not a candidate for lasik due to my prescription and astigmatism. Dr. Wang, Dr. Connolly, Dr. Rock, Dr. Zimmerman, and ALL of the additional staff members are fantastic and caring. The first appointment I made for a Lasik consult I canceled because I chickened out. Ashley was very understanding and answered all my questions. At my consult a few vision tests were done and I was able to have the procedure that day. Dr. Wang explains what he is doing during the procedure. It lasted about 30 minutes. I cannot recommend Dr. Wang and his staff highly enough! I had LASIK surgery, and am so happy I chose the Wang Vision Institute. I went to Dr Wang's seminar in my home town and herd what he had to say and was impressed. I then went to his office for an eye exam to see if he was going to be able to treat me, after the exam I was told that I could have the procedure that day I went home with no glasses it was amazing. Same day service I would not have believed it but it happened, for the first time in my life 20/20 vision!!!! More

Outstanding! I am 2 days post 3D LASIK and have 20/20 vision. Dr. Wang absolutely lives up to his credentials and reputation.
