I am officially one-week post-op from my "SMILE" procedure, and I couldn't be more thrilled with my experience at Wang Vision Institute and my results. I am a classic case of "got glasses when I was nine and haven't been able to see without them since." A bladeless LASIK procedure was something that I had wanted to do for well over a decade. The only thing that kept me from making the leap was… I'll be honest, I am a big baby when it comes to procedures. The thought of eye surgery? That was the scariest part. A friend in the greater Nashville area sang the praises of Wang Vision Institute so much that I knew I had to at least take the first step in conquering my fear and just make a consultation. The team at Wang vision institute is top notch! I am a dental surgeon and having eye surgery has been on my mind for years but I was afraid to put my ability to work at risk. Well all those concerns were thrown out of the window once I met the team here. Gabby saw me for my first exam and was very sweet and thorough and truly made feel like this is the best place to be. The team makes a business great and I can seriously say Gabby is amazing at her job, thank you. I went in for a vision consultation on a Wednesday and was able to have SMILE surgery the same day. The staff and providers made me feel extremely well cared for from start to finish. I am probably leaving off some people, but Dennis, Cameron, and Dr. Koch were fantastic. My surgery was done by Dr. Jones with James as the tech. I was extremely nervous and I just cannot say enough kind things about how calm and relaxed they made me feel. As for the surgery itself, it was not as bad as I thought it would be, and the difference was noticeable immediately and has continued to get better. Before coming to Wang Vision, I was wearing contacts for 8 years and my vision just kept getting worse and worse every year (-6.50 on both eyes). Before I knew it, I was able to read in 20/20 vision 24 hours after my surgery. I had the SMILE procedure done and it took 45 minutes. I've been wearing glasses/contacts for years now and grew tired of spending money on both and having to wear them. Had been considering Lasik surgery for about a year now but hesitated in doing so because I wanted to find the right place to get it done at. One word to describe the experience is perfect. I schedule a consultation in which it was free. They informed me about all the types of procedures there is.I have very high long sightedness and astigmatism. I qualified for all of procedures but recommended me for the SMILE procedure. On surgery day 11/07/22 they went over the DOs and DONTs post surgery. It was my first surgery but I was not nervous I had faith everything was going to go well. Dr.wang and the nurses made sure I was taken care off. The doctor prayed for me before the surgery which gave me more reinsurance everything was going to be okay. The surgery went very well, I had no pain I only experience blurriness which is very normal. Gave me all the drops I need to take. After surgery I made sure to keep my eyes closed as much as possible. Today as I am writing this on 11/08/22 I had post surgery appointment in which they checked my eyes told me I have 20/20 vision. My recovery is doing well as they expected it to be. Made sure I have all the drops I need to be taking. Overall the nurses and doctor made everything very clear. I’m very thankful for the staff. Hello everyone, I've had bad eyesight since 3rd grade and my prescription for the year 2022 was about -7.5 in both eyes. In other words, i was totally blind. I couldn't even find my glasses in the morning because i couldn't see them. I've thought about getting corrective surgery for years but it always terrified me. This year I just got fed up with the struggle of wearing glasses and decided to see if I qualified for it. At Wang vision institute, I qualified for Lasik and Smile. I decided to go with smile, even though it can be pretty costly, because I wanted the best treatment for my eyes since they were so bad and it was less invasive. I had the surgery the same day and even though i was extremely anxious and nervous, I was able to go through it because Dr. Wang made me feel like I was in good hands. I trusted him to do it right and his assistant, Gabby, constantly reassured me through the whole thing. Everyone there was so patient and kind. I have worn contacts for over 10 years and have always experienced eye irritation from the contact lenses. Additionally, as someone with an active lifestyle, glasses were not a great option. I chose to get SMILE back in late January since my prescription WAS -7 in both eyes. I’m 4 months post-op and life is amazing and so much simpler having 20/20 vision. Most of the time I completely forget that I used to have glasses/contacts which is insane considering I needed them to function for 25 years. Everything at Wang Institute was great- very efficient and were available to ask any questions before and after surgery. Healing was quick and it’s true that you can see 20/20 the next day albeit with some light sensitivity and mild headache. I was back at work the following week (did take some breaks since it’s a 100% computer based job), but was able to work full time by the second week for sure! It’s expensive but very worth it- I kept/keep saying that it’s like a miracle and science is amazing. I would definitely recommend Wang Vision Institute if you’re looking for vision correction surgery. More
The ideal experience at Wang Vision Institute. I initially came in for a consult in April of 2022 and was planning for a same day procedure which isn’t uncommon for patients who come in for laser surgery. I was provided thorough and prompt instructions and guidelines via email prior to coming in. Once in the office, the staff completed the initial tests/exams to determine if I was a candidate for Lasik and/or SMILE. I was a candidate for both, fortunately and ultimately opted for SMILE because of my “high prescription”, over -4.0 in each eye. Right before the procedure when getting ready to pay, I ran into a hiccup with my FSA provider that unfortunately resulted in me postponing my procedure to a future date. The staff and my coordinator were understanding and had no issues whatsoever - they went above the call of duty to help me try and resolve the issues with my FSA and kept in touch in the meantime. Once the FSA issue was resolved, I rescheduled and had a great experience - once again. The surgery went very smoothly and I had 20/20 vision by the next day, with improvements still on the horizon. Couldn’t be happier that I won’t need to deal with contacts/glasses for many many years! The procedure itself was painless, a slight amount of pressure (and let’s be honest, there are many doctors visits in life when they say you might feel “slight discomfort, or pressure” and sometimes that discomfort and pressure feels a lot more intense than you were expecting)..but in this case, with my right eye I don’t think I felt hardly anything! The left eye, I felt a bit more pressure but no pain. Almost like a 5 second headache which quickly resolved. The post ops instructions were clear and laid out prior to the surgery and we were provided everything we needed before the surgery. The only item needed that wasn’t provided was prescription eye drops, which they called in to my pharmacy before we left. As a tip for future patients, it’s called Moxifloxacin, and you will have to pay out of pocket for this. I recommend finding a discounted price on GoodRx, so when you let them know your pharmacy, they can send it to one with the price you want. Because it would have been $90-150 pharmacy rate, but we got it for $20 at Publix and it was only $13.99 on GoodRx at Costco. Lessons learned! All in all, a wonderful experience without a hitch. Dr. Wang was kind and thoughtful. I’m not an anxious person around medical persons or procedures, but I know for people who may have more anxiety, the staff and Dr. Wang will take amazing care of you and help you feel at peace. 😊 As far as costs go, you will pay per eye and there are some additional “per eye” costs that are additional and some upgrade packages. I would classify it as an investment that is well worth it but make sure you have a good understanding of the costs before committing. SMILE is more expensive than Lasik because it’s a newer technology. But recognize, this was not an inexpensive investment and maybe something you’d like to weigh based on your current prescription and investment in eye care regularly. With annual visits, new lens and glasses annually for me, and $200 worth of 2-week contacts per year, it will pay itself off in a short while. The price of the years of convenience is something to consider as well! The base price also includes post op visits, the procedure, and the post op materials. Altogether, I couldn’t be happier and I have a feeling the more I heal, the happier I will be with the results. I was 20/20 the day after procedure and it will continue to improve over the days and weeks ahead. Thank you to the team and Dr. Wang for my vision back, such a gift! More
I've been recommending Wang Vision Institute to all my friends and family. I had really bad vision for such a long time (-9.75 and -10), and was not qualified for LASIK. I more recently started having trouble seeing up close, as my prescription was so high it was distorting images nearby! I felt that I may never be able to see clearly... until I decided to have one more opinion. When I first stepped into the office of Wang Vision Institute, I felt instantly at home. I went through some tests, and was told I qualified for SMILE!! The staff was great, from my very first consultation appointment to all my follow up appointments! Dr. Wang was so personable and even prayed before my surgery (which I really appreciated). From start to finish, I never once felt uncomfortable. The surgery itself was super easy - it just looks like a white napkin is placed over the eye and someone is moving a flashlight around! No pain! It's now been two weeks, I can see really well, and am so happy!! If you're on the fence, just go for it!! You won't regret it!! I’ve wanted to have vision correction for the longest time. I have worn glasses since the age of 7 and contacts from my teen years. Now 36 I have no of ever seeing without having to have them on. The moment surgery was completed I got extremely emotional being able to see in the room immediately. Dr. Wang is an extremely talented surgeon and deeply cares for his patients. He even prayed with me before he began the surgery. That alone made me feel calm and at ease. His staff is wonderful from the front desk welcoming you as soon as you walk in to the door to the optometrists making sure your eyes are healthy and ready for surgery and all of the other staff in between! Where to begin? I recently got SMILE surgery at Wang Vision Institute in mid-April, only to be able to type this message comfortably without glasses before May. The consultation was smooth and professional and I was relieved that I could be a candidate for SMILE. I was also able to learn more about the process through their webinar sessions. I was a bit skeptical going into this process as it's my eyeballs at stake here haha, but I could not be more happy with the outcome!! I chose the SMILE procedue (1 week ago), and it's hard to believe that I CAN SEE CLEARLY. The surgery itself was about 30 minutes, but the consulations/exams took a few hours. Everyone was friendly and lax (almost a bit too lax as I was freaking out), but I cannot praise Dr. Wang and his lab technician enough. They calmed my nerves immediately, had a wonderful / comfortable approach, and made me feel safe throughout the procedure. Would recommend to any family and friends. 10/10. More
I had (very) recently went and had an eye exam (in a mall location) and was treated with urgency, and the results were still very blurry vision (even with a new prescription.) I was frustrated and thought maybe I was going blind- that's when I decided, I was tired of not being able to see and, I wanted Lasik so I called Wang Vision. They were able to schedule a consultation within days. I was then able to have my SMILE lasik the same day (as my consultation), so no stress or high anxiety of waiting for weeks. The staff from start to finish were all very nice, extra accommodating, and very thorough. When they performed my eye exam, I was seeing (with glasses) 20/300. My prescription was 2 points off. (The mall exam did not perform a thorough exam and gave me a bad prescription). What a difference clear vision makes, and without foggy glasses!!! I just recently had LASIK done by Dr. Wang at Wang Vision Institute. I had been wanting LASIK for so long as I have been in glasses/contacts for almost a decade. As soon as I searched, WVI (Wang Vision Institute) was the highest rated on the list so I called them and they had an appointment only a week away. I immediately jumped on it for the consultation and hopefully same day surgery! In the meantime, I called around to almost every other LASIK place in the area and all were competitively priced and some cheaper, but the experience I had with WVI from the first call was what kept me down that path. Even when my insurance would cover some at other places. I get one pair of eyes, so there aren’t really any do-overs, so not going to be doubtful with who I choose. Long story short, went to the consultation and had surgery same day! They supplied everything I could possibly need, scheduled all of the follow up appointments to fit my schedule, and the instructions were spot on!! The very next day I had 20/20 vision in one eye and 20/15 vision in the other!! I am healing perfectly and was back at work the next day. It has been the best experience ever and I would choose them 100x over!! Cr wanted to have this done for so long. When I made my appointment, they Indicated I could possibly have surgery the same day. That was exactly what happened. Making an appointment at Ming Wang Institute was the best decision I could have made. I had the surgery called “smile”. I was able to see 20/20 the next day!!! It is absolutely amazing!! The process was so easy. They did a thorough job in ensuring they had the full scope of my situation with my eyes. Let me know I would have to use readers, my eyes were really bad. They were awesome with the coaching me and walking me through every step before, during, and after! During the procedure they gave me a blanket to use for warmth, as they want to make you as comfortable as possible. The gentleman assisting the dr was so reassuring and comforting. After having terrible vision for the last 20 years, I heard from a friend how they went to Wang and had it corrected. I asked a million questions being the skeptic that I am. After hearing many, many good testimonies I decided it was time. The procedure was quick and painless, the doctors were friendly and answered all my questions (yes I still had more), and took their best care of me. I went home that day and went to bed after the surgery and woke up in the middle of the night. As I looked around my room I was shocked to be able to see everything, even in the dark! I have been debating about getting LASIK for over 10 years now and then I found this place and I went to get an eye exam to see if I even qualified for LASIK since my vision was so bad and ended up qualifying and got the surgery all in a span of a few hours the same day. My vision is 20/20!! My recovery time was no where what I or the doctors thought it would be since I did have such horrible vision and I ended up coming out with better vision then we both though as well. Wang vision changed my life! Back in January I went in hoping to get Lasik. After my I total exam I was regretfully informed that due to my high prescription I wouldn’t not be a candidate for Lasik. This was disappointing as I had saved the money and was ready to pull the trigger on this procedure. After asking what else could be done, Dr. Koch recommended another option. She said to make Lasik possible they needed to correct my refractive lenses. After those were corrected my new prescription would make me eligible for Lasik. She explained that this was a larger procedure and that the oral process would take about 6 months. I decided to follow through with this option and set the date. I received Refractive Lens Exchange surgery in both eyes from Dr. Frenkel in February 2021 this procedure is exactly the same as a standard cataracts procedure except I didn’t have cataracts). They replaced my existing lenses with artificial ones that would improve my vision. Three months later in May of 2021 I received a YAG procedure on both eyes. (This is where they removed the scar tissue from the last procedure. This is extremely common and took less than 15 minutes. It required no sedation and was done in their normal office in Nashville. This was also performed by Dr. Frenkel. Then three months after that (August 2021) I **FINALLY** got the Lasik procedure done in both eyes! (Dr. Frenkel again.) This was a journey, a process and at times a headache (the constant eye drops after each procedure lol). But let me tell you, I am now SEEING 20/20!!! Even as I type this I am using nothing but my eyeballs! No glasses or contacts! I have never in my entire life been without corrective lenses. Before my procedures I was in thick glasses or contacts to be able to do anything! I simply cannot explain how amazing it is to be free from that! If you are anything like myself, and you are considering this path as you weren’t eligible for the standard Lasik procedure itself I recommend that you DO IT! This was simply one of the best decisions of my life. Wang vision changed my life. They held my hand through the whole process and in the end I received the results I had been hoping for! Thank you Wang vision and thank you Jesus for the success and good results I’ve received! I’m beyond words! Pro tips: * Do the “A” plan. It’s cheaper in the long run and it’s very reassuring to have! * Don’t overthink it. The difference between this process and simply coming in for a Lasik procedure is that your progress takes much longer. Trust the process. Based on the character I believe this business holds, they wouldn’t recommend a procedure that you wouldn’t benefit from. * If you can pay cash do so! They offer a great discount for it! More

Wang Vision Institute is the best. I am a 59 yr. old woman. I was practically blind in one of my eyes after having cataract surgery from another eye dr. It is so nice to be able to wake up and see my clock in the morning. My eye sight is better now than I ever remember being able to see before. Just looking at the sky and the clouds is so amazing. After 25 years of strongly depending on glasses and contacts, I can see without them at all! I was told by a well-advertised competitor that I would not qualify for Lasik surgery. I quickly decided to contact Wang Vision Institute. When I arrived at Wang for my consultation I felt very welcomed from the front desk, consultation to the billing. I was approved for a Monovision Lasik surgery. I will be the first to admit that I was originally very nervous to get Lasik's surgery. I've just never liked the idea... I had a previous consultation with another doctor and found out I did not qualify for lasik. Due to my thin cornea and terrible vision, I would've had to get PRK. I decided to get a second opinion with Wang Vision. I arrived early and instead of a long wait, they saw me immediately. I was surprised to hear that I was a candidate for 3D Smile and happily proceeded with the procedure. They gave me numbing drops and something to calm my nerves. They provided me a warm blanket to cover up while laying down. The eye surgery itself took about 30 seconds per eye. My worst fear was going blind during the operation but that never happened. Dr Wang covered up one eye at a time and had me stare at a red dot that alerts you when your eye wanders off. I never felt pain during the entire operation. When it was all done, I could still see, although everything was blurry. I went home and took my nap. Dr Wang even called me that night to check on me! I stayed on top of my eye drops and limited my screen time to optimize my healing time. My vision was much sharper the next day and I had little recovery discomfort. My vision went from 20/30 on my one week post op check, 20/20 on my second checkup, and even better at 20/15 on my latest checkup! I am so pleased with my entire experience and will recommend Wang Vision to anyone considering lasik!! More

I was able to gain extensive knowledge about the different procedures and ask questions to 𝐃𝐫. 𝗪𝐚𝐧𝐠 himself. So I would recommend not skipping this option! I had been contemplating getting Lasiks for years, but was terrified to do so. But, having a 2 year old constantly smacking my glasses and smudging them up, I decided to schedule a consultation 1 week ago. Dr. Wang and his staff were amazing. They have made me feel very comfortable and important every time I've been there. I came in for a consultation and was told that LASIK wouldn't completely give me all my vision back, because my eyes were so bad. I decided to do it anyway and prayed that God would give me back my full vision. Dr. Wang did my surgery and he also prayed with me before he performed the surgery which really impressed me and made me feel more comfortable during the surgery. After my surgery, I showed up for my follow-up appointment, when they did my vision test I was able to read 20/20 with no help!! I walked out of the office in tears that day, so humbled that God answered my prayers and used a great surgeon to do it. I have worn glasses since I was eight and every year they have had to make my prescription stronger, when I went in my eyes were so bad could only see things that were right in front of my face (my prescription was -7.25) now I'm thankful to be able to say I can see 20/20 with no help. One year ago this month my beautiful wife Denisse had Dr Wang do her 3D LAZIK surgery and she's doing amazing! She's completely recovered. As I shared last year, I originally had my 3D Forever Young surgery scheduled for early Spring 2020 but then the pandemic hit! We assumed it would pass quickly so we postponed but then realized it's just a near term part of our lives. In early September 2020, we worked with Dr. Ming Wang staff to schedule my 3D Forever Young surgery for mid September 2020! I'm now 5 weeks post surgery and have never felt or seen better! I was very scared of getting laser eye surgery, but was still wanting to get corrected vision. I was getting tired of not being able to see without glasses. I went to one of Dr Wang’s free seminars and was told about the different types that his office offers. I really wanted to get the SMILE surgery as that would be a smaller cut on my eye. I went to his office and was told that I was a candidate to get the SMILE surgery!!! I got the surgery done in August of 2020 and have no regrets getting it. I still have to wear readers as I was already starting to get progressive lenses, but that was no surprise as I was also told by them that I would still have to wear readers. I’m now 20/20!!! I was diagnosed with cataracts at another vision center in Chattanooga, and the staff there was extremely "hard sell" about getting in to their surgery center. I went to Wang Vision Institute for a second opinion and was very impressed. Exams, testing, and diagnosis were all very professional; the options were laid out before me, including detailed pricing. The Lasik surgery process was completed in less than 15 minutes, and right after the surgery my vision improved way better than it was. I’ve always wanted to get lasik eye surgery but have always been too scared thinking of everything that could go wrong. When I arrived to Wang Vision all the staff makes you feel very comfortable. I know the thought of eye surgery is pretty scary. However, I opted for the SMILE procedure and I am glad I did it. I did not feel any pain during or after the procedure. Staff encouraged me through the procedure which only took like 5 or less per eye. You can pick your own music to listen to and let the calming meds kick in. I would definitely recommend Wang Vision institute and Dr. Frenkel (which is who performed my procedure) If I can do you, so can you. I had a wonderful experience with Wang Vision Institute! I wasn't sure if I would qualify to get Lasik and I actually qualified for both Lasik and Smile! The staff was great and answered all of the questions I had in person and through email. The procedure was very quick (under 30 minutes) and with the numbing eye drops it was painless! I was given a couple of different types of drops to take afterwards and the instructions were very easy to follow. I can't believe after over 20 eyes of contacts/glasses I can see! More
Wang is the best doctor I’ve ever been to! He is kind, patient, attentive, and extremely skilled! The lasik procedure was entirely pain free, even the recovery. I was terrified and shaking but they calmed me down with a Mike Wazowski plushy and the African American gentleman (I wish I knew his name!) that assisted with my surgery even offered his hand for me to hold. (Sorry for digging my nails into you!) They even count down the seconds left while they’re working on your eyes. The surgery is over in a couple minutes, it’s the consultation that might take a couple hours. I suggest not doing the consultation and surgery on the same day, but that’s just my preference. Also try to stay up as late as possible the day before your surgery so the day of you can just sleep all day. Everyone that works there is extremely nice and welcoming. More

Had The smile procedure on Friday July 31. No pain just blurriness. I opted to get any extras offered to make my recovery less uncomfortable (ie. I had cataract surgery three weeks today. I am 47 and my prediction glasses were 12.75. My eyes continue to get nearsighted every year since I was 5 years old. Dr Wang performed cataract surgery and was able to fix my astigmatism and all of the floaters. Other doctors would not operate even though my sight was poor with corrective glasses. This was a very scary experience because I have been told my entire life surgery would be very risky. Rather than having you read about my entire great experience and then give my overall summary, I'll get straight to the point upfront. Yesterday afternoon, I had the SMILE procedure done on both eyes by Dr Wang. The following morning (today), I went back in for a post-op follow-up and both eyes are now a perfect 20/20 - in less than 24 hours! What an awesome experience! SMILE definitely made me smile! Now for background. I'm 45/m and have been wearing contacts and glasses since I was a teenager. Several years ago, my vision stabilized in both eyes at -4.75 (nearsighted). I finally felt that the time was right, to look into the options of Lasik surgery. Of course, Dr Wang was my only consideration. I arrived at Dr Wang's office and was treated so very well by all staff and doctors. I was given the expected vision tests and then told my options for correction. After careful consideration, I decided to go with SMILE. At that point, I was taken to surgery where I was placed on the operating table and prepped. Dr Wang then came into the room and introduced himself. First thing he immediately asked me to do, was close my eyes...and then he initiated a prayer over us! WOW!! Dr Wang started on my right eye first, and the procedure for my left eye went exactly the same. During the surgery Dr Wang and his staff were in constant communication with me. They guided me verbally thru the entire process...telling me what I was about to see and feel, asked how I was doing, paced my breathing, and they gave me a countdown of when certain tasks were being completed. I cannot give enough gratitude for that. I was literally in one of the most vulnerable moments in my life, and to have all their reassuring voices there to guide me, helped make it so much more comfortable. Dr Wang is truly amazing. I have NEVER been treated so well as a patient anywhere. Later that evening after the surgery, Dr Wang personally called me to check in, see how I was doing, and he reiterated how well the surgery went. How many Doctors do that?! Dr Wang is sincere, humble, and truly appreciates being able to help people. I just want to conclude, by saying once more, how much I appreciate everyone there. Getting SMILE surgery at the Wang Vision Institute has been the best medical experience I've ever had. The staff have been friendly, the wait times nonexistent, and the surgery has left me with 20/15 vision. Dr. Wang even called me personally to remind me to wear eye protection after the surgery. That's right, not a nurse or an intern, but the doctor himself. As for business practices, I came in for a consultation about PRK laser surgery, which was a more expensive option than LASIK. After the consultation I was told that I was better suited for SMILE, which would normally be more expensive than either PRK or LASIK, however, they were having a limited sale on SMILE surgeries, which ended up being as cheap as the regular LASIK. tl;dr - Dr. Wang and his staff care, and you will have improved vision if you follow their instructions More

It's been two weeks since my consultation and surgery (had them both on the same day) and I have been as happy as I can be with the whole experience and results so far. I had been to two seminars previously which were extremely informative and really answered all the questions I had about the surgeries -- the discount you get is also a super great plus. I was given very detailed instructions on what to expect with the surgery, how to prep for it and what the post-op care would look like about a month prior. The consultation and evaluation process was very detailed, every employee I encountered was so nice and really accommodating every step of the way. You will definitely be there for some hours if you're doing your eval and surgery the same day so be prepared for that. Otherwise, the whole process was easy - I really felt they took their time and was hardly nervous for the actual surgery itself when it finally came time to do it. Dr. Wang was very comforting, even explaining what he was doing every step of the surgery. My eyesight was so bad so they told me beforehand that they wouldn't be able to get me to 20/20, which is fine because I don't think I've ever really seen 20/20 even with my contacts/glasses. Dr. Wang called me personally that same evening to make sure I was doing well and to see if I had any questions. I was back to work the next day. I had my follow up 3 days after surgery where I could read 20/25 without any help of contacts or glasses! I'm seeing just as well now as I was with contacts - my night blindness has improved tremendously (huge plus)! I've had no issues with dry eye or any recovery problems. I had small incision lasik in October 2019 to correct astigmatism and near sidedness in both of my eyes. I am beyond satisfied with the services I received. I see way better than I ever did with contacts or glasses. Everyone I have seen at Wang Vision Institute have been so nice and personable. LASIK surgery update : I can see!! 🎉Yesterday’s appointment with Wang Vision Institute was eye opening! Literally! 🤣 We were told by friends that it would take minutes but my vision was so bad (-7 in one eye and -6 in the other) that it did not. I was treated differently. Some places probably wouldn’t have had the technology or skill to work on me. We are thankful for @wangvisionlasik that they could. The staff were thorough because this is my vision we were talking about. I had my 3D SMILE procedure done on Sept 25. First, everyone in the office was kind and accommodating. I have a family history of ocular issues (maternal grandmother with glaucoma and macular degeneration) so I had a lot of questions for Dr. Connolly during the evaluation. She answered each question and also pulled up the latest research on line regarding my questions so I could see it for myself. I was seeking opinions regarding Laser correction surgery and laser correction of black floaters in my eye. Dr. Connolly was honest in telling my that no laser correction could be done on the kind of black floaters I had, and that it would not be wise if anyone offered to correct them as they could damage my lens. I so appreciated this evaluation, and felt completely comfortable having a procedure here. Dr. Wang did my procedure and thoroughly walked me through each step. I was understandably nervous but was reassured and coached during the entire procedure, which was only about 10min its entirety. At my 24hr appointment I was seeing 20/20 and my vision continued to get clearer over the following two weeks as expected. My advice would be to have your laser procedure done by Wang Vision and to use all drops as prescribed. I am so glad I did 3D SMILE, seeing without glasses in the morning, while swimming, and doing yoga has been a true gift. Thank You! More

I have worn glasses/contacts for over 30 years. Up until now, eye doctors told me that I was not a candidate for vision correction due to very high myopia (nearly -10), scleral buckle, and multiple retinal detachments. After a lot of research, I decided to send Dr. Wang’s office an email to explain my situation. Surprisingly, Dr. Wang himself responded! Getting SMILE surgery at the Wang Vision Institute has been the best medical experience I've ever had. The staff have been friendly, the wait times nonexistent, and the surgery has left me with 20/15 vision. Dr. Wang even called me personally to remind me to wear eye protection after the surgery. That's right, not a nurse or an intern, but the doctor himself.As for business practices, I came in for a consultation about PRK laser surgery, which was a more expensive option than LASIK. After the consultation I was told that I was better suited for SMILE, which would normally be more expensive than either PRK or LASIK, however, they were having a limited sale on SMILE surgeries, which ended up being as cheap as the regular LASIK.tl;dr - Dr. Wang and his staff care, and you will have improved vision if you follow their instructions More
Rather than having you read about my entire great experience and then give my overall summary, I'll get straight to the point upfront. Yesterday afternoon, I had the SMILE procedure done on both eyes by Dr Wang. The following morning (today), I went back in for a post-op follow-up and both eyes are now a perfect 20/20 - in less than 24 hours! What an awesome experience! SMILE definitely made me smile!Now for background. I'm 45/m and have been wearing contacts and glasses since I was a teenager. Several years ago, my vision stabilized in both eyes at -4.75 (nearsighted). I finally felt that the time was right, to look into the options of Lasik surgery. Of course, Dr Wang was my only consideration.I arrived at Dr Wang's office and was treated so very well by all staff and doctors. I was given the expected vision tests and then told my options for correction. After careful consideration, I decided to go with SMILE. At that point, I was taken to surgery where I was placed on the operating table and prepped. Dr Wang then came into the room and introduced himself. First thing he immediately asked me to do, was close my eyes...and then he initiated a prayer over us! WOW!!Dr Wang started on my right eye first, and the procedure for my left eye went exactly the same. During the surgery Dr Wang and his staff were in constant communication with me. They guided me verbally thru the entire process...telling me what I was about to see and feel, asked how I was doing, paced my breathing, and they gave me a countdown of when certain tasks were being completed. I cannot give enough gratitude for that. I was very nervous before and during the surgery, but they counted down the seconds and continued to tell me how proud they were. I have worn contacts/glasses for over 18 years. Friday, Dr. Wang performed 3D SMILE on me and now I never have to wear glasses or contacts again! My father was legally blind in his right eye, and almost in his left. He is very independent, lives alone and drives all around Nashville and beyond. Dr Skelo, close to St Thomas West, didnt want to help him arrange cataract surgery. She told him that he didnt have to have the surgery because it was an elective procedure. She also told me behind his back that i shouldnt let him drive, as his cataracts were very bad. She gave a laundry list of obstacles to overcome.We began jumping through many hoops. Once we had a clearance for surgery letter from a family medicine doctor, and took it to her office...we didnt hear from her, and I called several times. And I finally said that i met her criteria for being able to schedule surgery. She then picked up the phone and wanted to add further testing and still refused to help us...it was on a Thursday afternoon and I was so discouraged. This is a low risk procedure. I googled cataract surgery, and of course Ming Wang popped up. I called and the sweetest voice was on the other line. I told her of our struggles, and she said, "how early can you come in the morning!" And that "catarat surgery is a necessary surgery, if one wants to be independant, drive, have any kind of quality life" that is exactly the way we felt...came to his office early the following day...had many types of exams, saw Dr Wang, obtained a prescriptions for the necessary drops...and scheduled surgery for rhe following Tuesday. Everything went perfect. Had the second eye surgery two weeks later. We always looked forward for the many follow up visits. My dad just loves Dr Wang, Dr Connelly, and all of his wonderful staff. My dad says that he feels like they had a genuine concern for him and his needs. They always treated him like the most important patient ever!!! Had laser floater removal done at Wang Vision Institute after suffering with eye floaters that made it look like I was peering through a dense fog all the time. I had 3D Lasik about a month ago for my astigmatism. Dr Wang was able to fix my eyes were I can read and see at a distance. Local Dr.'s told me if I had Lasik that I would probably have to use reading glasses. He was able to do mine so I would not have too. It is some of the best money I have spent. I followed his instructions post op and had no issues. I would highly recommend him. More

I have been a patient of Dr. Wang's for 11 months. I first went to his presentation and received a discount on surgery. As a patient, you learn that it can take a year or more for the entire process to work. This has been the case for me. I had -11 vision and astigmatism in both eyes. I was told by several doctors that i was not a candidate for lasik due to my prescription and astigmatism. After my consultation, they recommended 3D reduction lasik surgery to help reduce my -11 vision. I knew that the procedure would help reduce my vision and require me to have a mild prescription to drive at night and maybe read. After my procedure, I was able to open my eyes right away and could see. it was a very emotional moment. The next day at my post opp appointment I was told that I now have 20-30 vision which was not what was expected. this was a very emotional experience for me and I could not be more happy with the outcome. Dr. Wang and his staff performed corneal collagen cross-linking on both of my eyes. The experience was terrific start to finish. Dr. Wang, Dr. Connolly, Dr. Rock, Dr. Zimmerman, and ALL of the additional staff members are fantastic and caring. My vision has been extremely blurry ever since I was in the 3rd grade, I am currently 24 now. My grandfather and both sisters had lasik performed by Dr Wang this year and they encouraged me to have the procedure done. Ever since I was in first grade I have had to wear glasses. I was considered legally blind without my contacts or glasses. The biggest letter all by itself on the board to see how well you see I couldn’t make out. It was a blur. I have dry eyes, very bad astigmatism, high prescription, and cataracts in both eyes. Dr. Wang performed my cataract removal surgery. I had the multifocal presbyopic intraocular lens implant (“Forever Young Lens™”). It has been 3 months now since the surgery. I have good vision near, intermedia and distance. Before I had two wear 2 pair of glasses, one to work in front of the computer (one vision) to avoid neck pain and another pair, progressive to drive and everything else. Since the surgery, the only glasses I wear are some fashionable cool sun glasses. Dr. Wang is a caring human been and brilliant surgeon. His whole team is amazing. Had the Smile surgery on a Friday which lasted approximately 1-2 mins/eye. Didn't feel anything on the right eye and a little pain for a few seconds on the left but instant eye drops fixed that after the procedure. I was driving and showering the next day. My vision has been extremely blurry ever since I was in the 3rd grade, I am currently 24 now. My grandfather and both sisters had lasik performed by Dr Wang this year and they encouraged me to have the procedure done. I was a little weary at first, due to the fact that I knew little to nothing about the surgery. Finally, after going on vacation and being unable to see when I snorkeled, I made an appointment at the wang vision institute. That was the best decision of my life. The only thing nicer than Dr. Ming Wang is being able to see without the use of contacts or glasses. The surgery was very fast and there was no pain at all. Dr. Wang is an extremely talented and affable surgeon. Every aspect of going to Dr. Wang's office is enjoyable and all of his staff are knowledgeable, friendly, and efficient. They make it easy to understand your unique vision and the options you have for improving your vision. I came in unable to read subtitles from a movie screen, road signs, or text on the TV across my (small) living room...6 months out of surgery I have 13/20 vision! The surgery itself only took a couple of minutes and Dr. Wang personally called me that night to make sure that everything was progressing as expected and that I didn't have any questions. Dr. Wang is the best in the business and so is his staff, they are professional and proficient in every step. Dr. Connolly and other personnel did multiple eye exams which were cross referenced to avoid any mistakes and all were very friendly and accommodating. Dr. Wang makes sure you make an informed decision and the procedure only takes a few minutes once started. I had 3D LASIK done on the same day that I went in for an evaluation, the next day I had 15/20 vision in one eye and 20/20 in the other. I highly recommend the Wang Vision Institute. I had two cataract surgeries performed by Dr. Ming Wang in 2016. I needed to get them done before the end of the year. I emailed him and explained my situation, plus the fact that I did not have insurancecoverage. He personally emailed me back within the hour and assuredme the office would be able to work with me. I made an immediateappointment. My reading glasses had been as high as 4.50 and I had toorder them online. Drug stores did not sell them that high.Anyway, I had surgery on my right eye Dec. 1, 2016 – and on my left eye Dec. 6, 2016. I am 4 months out and still completely satisfied with the results. I had high prescription hyperopia (far-sightedness), which can be more difficult to correct. I am also on a student stipend, and so money is rather tight right now. However, because I am considering becoming a surgeon-scientist, I felt that this was a necessary investment. The afternoon following the operation, my eyes were very dry with some burning. The burning was gone by the next morning, with residual dryness for one week that was kept at bay with artificial tears. Halos during the night time persisted for two weeks but then resolved. Otherwise, my vision was great from even day one post-op, and continued to improve to near perfect by one month. There are cheaper options available in town. But I couldn't cheap out on my only pair of eyeballs. And I would make the same decision again if I were given the choice. More

When my vision finally deteriorated to the point that I could no longer see to read without reading glasses I was devastated. Reading is my favorite past-time, but the necessity of readers gave me a constant headache as my eyes were continually trying to adjust to glasses on vs. glasses off. Long story short, I finally decided to go see Dr. Wang to find out what if anything could be done to fix the problem. After extensive evaluation, it was determined that the Kamra procedure would be my best option. A week later I had the procedure done, and today I no longer require reading glasses! I couldn't be happier with the procedure, and Dr. Wang has given me back the freedom to read without the burden of readers and the headaches that came with them. And on on a more personal note, just before the procedure started, he prayed, and he even personally called me that night after the procedure to make sure I was doing OK. Awesome experience and very professional and kind staff. The entire process from exam to procedure (I decided to go ahead and get it done the same day) was 4 hour. The exam is very extensive and thorough. Dr. Wang was professional and explained everything and even though I was getting 3D lasik he kinda laughed and said you know you are not 20 so you will still need reading glasses...which I already knew. But I am so thankful for being able to see distances again. No more glasses at the beach except SUNGLASSES...thank you again. More

I had 3D Lasik about a month ago for my astigmatism. Dr Wang was able to fix my eyes were I can read and see at a distance. Local Dr.'s told me if I had Lasik that I would probably have to use reading glasses. He was able to do mine so I would not have too. It is some of the best money I have spent. I was having problems due to cataracts in both my eyes but my left eye was legally blind! Dr. Ming Wang was the first doctor to tell me he could help me and I had seen three other doctors that wanted to talk about how much it was going to cost me and promising nothing as far as my sight was concerned!The first words Doctor Ming Wang stated to me was he was going to take very good care of me and I would only talk with one person when I had questions, he and his staff are the reason why I am writing this review. I trusted my eyes with the very best and the results are Excellent! I have worn contacts and glasses for my Strong prescription ( an 8.0 in one eye) for 30 years. My father was legally blind in his right eye, and almost in his left. He is very independent, lives alone and drives all around Nashville and beyond. Dr Skelo, close to St Thomas West, didnt want to help him arrange cataract surgery. She told him that he didnt have to have the surgery because it was an elective procedure. She also told me behind his back that i shouldnt let him drive, as his cataracts were very bad. She gave a laundry list of obstacles to overcome.We began jumping through many hoops. Once we had a clearance for surgery letter from a family medicine doctor, and took it to her office...we didnt hear from her, and I called several times. And I finally said that i met her criteria for being able to schedule surgery. She then picked up the phone and wanted to add further testing and still refused to help us...it was on a Thursday afternoon and I was so discouraged. This is a low risk procedure. I googled cataract surgery, and of course Ming Wang popped up. I called and the sweetest voice was on the other line. I told her of our struggles, and she said, "how early can you come in the morning!" And that "catarat surgery is a necessary surgery, if one wants to be independant, drive, have any kind of quality life" that is exactly the way we felt...came to his office early the following day...had many types of exams, saw Dr Wang, obtained a prescriptions for the necessary drops...and scheduled surgery for rhe following Tuesday. Everything went perfect. Had the second eye surgery two weeks later. We always looked forward for the many follow up visits. My dad just loves Dr Wang, Dr Connelly, and all of his wonderful staff. My dad says that he feels like they had a genuine concern for him and his needs. They always treated him like the most important patient ever!!! I will add that Dr Wang called to check on him, the evening, after each surgery. This meant a lot to my dad. And yes, he is a celebrity, due to his winning personality, exceptional skill, outstanding staff, and beautiful facility. Dad is so grateful, and says it is the best thing he has ever done for himself. He never experienced any pain, and now he has 20/20 vision...Im jealous. More
I would like to give a special thanks to the on-call doctor at 11:30 PM 30/5/18 for addressing my questions politely (and coherently!) in the middle of the night. The customer service is phenomenal. They will address your every concern with patience, kindness, and depth. Dr. Ming Wang speaks with you personally at length during your evaluation, and then again right before/during surgery. All of the doctors/nurses are generous with information and guidance. To answer some questions I had had before surgery: The doctors will evaluate your eyes in the facility, and Dr. Wang will perform surgery the same day if you have followed pre-op instructions sent by the Patient Coordinator. After evaluation, your surgical options are presented to you alongside pricing.During refractive surgery (LASIK, PRK, & SMILE) you are safe from accidental eye movements, and my SMILE eye surgery was truly painless. Yes, it really does only take five minutes per eye!My recommendations stand proud with this center, and I'd once again like to thank the on-call doctor (11:30 PM CST, 30/5/18) for her outstanding patience! I went to Dr Wang's seminar in my home town and herd what he had to say and was impressed. I then went to his office for an eye exam to see if he was going to be able to treat me, after the exam I was told that I could have the procedure that day I went home with no glasses it was amazing.
